Too often did I follow close on the heels of happiness, today I saw her face.
(Louis Armstrong – Wonderful World)

I woke up this morning to a blue sky and a gentle wind. As I made my way out of the house, I noticed my car was bird shit-free. Today is going to be a good day; I can feel it in my bones. And why shouldn’t it be, it's a Wednesday and I’ve got a 4 day weekend ahead of me.

Here's a list of my 10 favourite songs to listen to on a day like this.

1) Louis Armstrong - Wonderful World
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

2) U2 - Beautiful Day
3) New Order - True Faith
4) The Cranberries - Dreams
5) The Cure - Friday I'm In Love
6) The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
7) Saint Etienne – I Was Born On Christmas Day
8) Thievery Corporation – Heaven’s Going to Burn Your Eyes
9) Smashing Pumpkins – 1979
10) Paul Van Dyk – For An Angel

I attended another wedding this past weekend at the beautiful art gallery of Ontario. I was only able to take one bush picture because we were indoors most of the time but that will be posted shortly.

The wedding itself was the most extravagant and well planned wedding I've ever been to. The reception hall was immaculate. The food was great and the company even better. Congratulations to the happy new bride and groom.

2 weddings down and 2 more to go this year...

When I first moved into my cubicle I was ecstatic because I had a skylight just above it. During the winter it was nice to have warm rays of sunshine shining down on me. Most people don’t have a view with their office or cubicle. I was one of the fortunate few. Or so I thought.

Now that summer is here, the sunlight beaming onto my desk turns it into a giant frying pan. It’s almost hot enough to cook an egg on. This occurs between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm everyday. If I hold off on lunch until then I can usually toast my sandwiches.

On certain days the sunlight radiates down like a ray from God. If I was religious I could pretend to talk to him and really freak out my co-workers.

Me (staring up towards the light)

"God, is that you?"
"What do you mean I should kill my coworkers in your name?"
"Of course I honour and love you but they're such nice people."
"I suppose if you put it that way."
"You want me to use my stapler, isn't that sort of barbaric?"
"No, I don't mean to question the means of your compassion."
"Ok, I will do as you ask my omnipotence."

Yeah, I don't think that would go over too well.

heheh, top 10's are fun. :) we should be team members on a top 10 blog! i have 4 of those 10 songs loaded on my mp3 player right now - "friday i'm in love", "true faith", "bittersweet symphony", and "heaven's gonna burn your eyes". "the richest man in babylon" is a beautiful album overall. i'm in an erasure mood this evening.

although you may deem the stapler "barbaric" as a method of "execution by office supplies", i would propose that it is far quicker, and therefore more humane than tying them up with packing tape and forcing them to lick envelopes.

You mean killing them by pulling a Costanza?...yes that would be far more barbaric...but I wouldn't have the means because even my workplace isn't as cheap as George...we actually have non-poisonous envelopes...

I could use the envelopes to give them paper cuts...however, just the thought of that makes me cringe...I'd make a horrible torturer...

I actually haven't heard the entire Thievery Corporation album but with your recommendation I'll go out and buy it :P Don't disappoint me! Erasure is another band that I've under-listened...yes, I just made up that word...but they do a great cover of ABBA :)

I would love to team up for a top 10 list...you name the topic and I'm there...doesn't even have to be about music :P

good list. for me, i'd add The Cure - Just Like Heaven and Catch; Pet Shop Boys - the entire Very CD; PVD - what it feels like for a girl :)

All very good additions. The entire Very cd is Very good...hehe. My favourite song on that album is "Yesterday, when I was mad". My top 3 songs from The Cure would be 1) Being Boring, 2) Just Like Heaven, 3) Pictures of You. The PVD remixed Madonna song is excellent as well :)

Bush pictures are simply pictures of people in bushes :P

I don't remember when it started or how it started but I think I was just really bored of the "normal" pictures I usually take so I started making my friends and gf pose in bushes or plants :P

:) My favourite photo past time is taking pictures of people with mullets. We usually try to pose near them and then adjust the camera angle to include the unknowing victim in the shot. We got some great ones in Orlando.

I have a friend who likes to take pictures on locked up bikes whenever he's out on the town.

It's always fun to throw in silly pictures :)
